Hey, things are starting to look a little better for me and the whole available time thing. Just wanted you guys to know that I am still working on our kernel. It just won't play nice with me. But we'll have our new kernel soon, and hopefully the final release. Have to see how things go.

Great news on both counts Chris.... glad to hear the news :)

Thanks gemini,

I did get a 2.6.26.5 built, and have it uploading for Anurag to test with. Hopefully that will go well, and we'll have a new kernel to work with.

Any progress on the web cam, SATA drive issue?
Keep breathing, it is all you really have

Won't know until it's tested but we'll see.

Yup, I am eager to test it too. I'll download it today. If all goes well, I'll upload it to the testing section of the repo for others to test too. :)

And Chris, so you would be here more often than before now (as you mentioned that you would be having more available time now) ? ;)

Yeah I plan on getting back to hanging around the forum again, as much as I can. I should be able to start spending some time here. Again I apologize to everyone that I was unable to be here. But you have to take care of things in life, it's just the way things go sometimes. I am eager to work on finishing what we started, and getting the final out. I know it's been delayed, but hopefully we can get it out pretty quickly. Then we can continue our progress.  ;)

"Harumph, harumph.... I didn't get a harumph out of that guy"  (Mel Brooks from the movie Blazzing Saddles)  :)

Can't help but to love Mel Brooks, especially in that movie. It's insane, but funny as hell.

Someday I'm going to get all of Mel's movies into my collection.  At least I already have the funniest movie of all time, "Young Frankenstein."

Glad to see you back Chris!  I'm hoping your new kernel will work in my new machine.  That is, if I ever get a working motherboard installed.  (Waiting on the 4th one to be returned now - it's been a long journey.)

Well thanks, I appreciate the warm welcome back.

Also I have gotten a lot of emails, and messages about the kernel. The kernel has been compiled, and it's been uploaded for Anurag to test. If it tests well for him, I am sure he'll upload it to the repos, so you can also test it as well. For me so far, it's running rather well, and I think it's going to be a good kernel. It's 2.6.26.5 and seems to run rather well on my laptop. The only problem that I have found so far, is my wireless card. But I have problems with this wireless card no matter what kernel I run.

So all seems to be going good right now, hopefully it'll test good for Anurag, and then all of you. Then we can move forward to the final release.

Again I apologize to everyone here, but I had some issues come up in life that just simply could not be ignored.
