Not that I agree with the subject matter (Windows and Ubuntu - Ugh) but the 3d effect is pretty cool.  Comments on the varient 1 version says he did it with Windows.  Doesn't say with what.  Nevertheless, a neat 3D graphic.

 pretty cool... I thought maybe a 3d generator app like they use to determine fragmentation of glass on impact and the distance / area it spreads but... of course I was way over-thinking again...

Hmmmm. . . .  Does the Gimp run on Windows, or did he speak with forked tongue.  (Or write with forked fingers?)

 The more you play round with the graphics apps... and take a look at tutorials, the more you could surprise yourself
 Computer art, is not a matter of the "mechanical ability" like hand-painting with oils, etc.... but rather a knowledge of how to use the tools. There is a need for some artistic foresight, like being able to hold a picture of an image in your mind as well as working with colors but, in the end... anything a person can do with an image to express themselves is art
