SommU may recognize these guys.... they are a Finnish band, and they are incredible... I live for this kind of stuff,,, so original, so unique, and just pure and absolute talent.
Also the fact that I LOVE the Cello and violins/fiddles

That song, Bittersweet" is one of my favorites now, but... go onto the other vids which depict the band themselves! The singers for Bittersweet, are just guest performers. The best vid to show their real talent is their remake of Slayer's  Hall of the Mountain King :P

 Buckle up :o

gemini,

I am pretty sure, and I think if you look. They did a musical version of Sanitarium, by Metallica, which I don't have to tell you
was absolutely awesome.

Yup, they are incredible, I have a complete collection of every work I can find of their's ;D

The strings played fantastic, there was an obvious tension built into the vocals by having disharmony with the two voices throughout the song until the end where they released some tension by obeying the rules of harmony, the visuals were great, dark, and somewhat mysterious. Not exactly my cup of tea but well done.

Keep breathing, it is all you really have

Yeah not sure if they are even their own cup of tea, definitely an acquired taste when it comes to music. But they are talented, it's hard to deny them of that. And it's in their own way, true to the nature of art.  ;)

Gemini on April 17, 2008, 05:49:07 AM
I think every aspect is a beautiful work of art.
The opposite tones /pitches of the singers add a lot of depth to the song, the harmony is there & consistant, it's just played back & fourth until the final note.
 I had searched both singers
 HIM
 and The Rasmus
and I have to admit, I am not too keen on their preferred art form (HIM considering his format as "Love Metal" ??? :P) what the heck is that?? :D
and The Rasmus is a bit to techno / teen-boppish for my liking

But, never the less... two men with captivating voices, brought together and used to present their best achievment (IMO) in this one hypnotic song

And cellos have always really had a strong place in my soul (as with any stringed instrument) and the same is for the Bag pipes (which I tried once and almost passed out :D)
Also wind instruments draw me right in (especially Celtic music)

But, my tastes range from classical to speed / death metal..... (any and everything but the new style of country, rap and hip-hop)

I love the banjo too.... now those I can play..... bag pipes will forever sit in the attic ;D

On a different note, "The Rasmus" in this video, looks just as I picture my son looking when he's older.... same facial structure and features and the same shaped eyes, except my son has Literally "dragon grren eyes" ;D

Can't believe I missed this thread! Apocalyptica is pretty cool. I have a few of their cd's. Very good music. 8)
They started off covering Metallica with cellos, but are working towards their own thing (at least from what I understand). Very unique sound, IMO.

That reminds me.

Any good forum site worth its salt, should have a "What are you listening to now" thread.

The idea being, that you post whatever your listening to at the time...

So without further delay I am setting one up know..

Cheers
