Hello Anurag,

I went back and re-worked the colors for the bootsplash so that the background is now a soft grey color you said you liked. The only hitch I had was in the placement of the loader information vs. progress bar.

I tried to have the loader information be placed toward the bottom portion of the screen, but couldn't get it to cooperate with the progress bar. I noticed in DrakSplash when moving the sliders that each element has its own set place where it can be positioned on the screen, but cannot cross the other element. Please let me know if there is a way around this because it would be interesting to know if I missed something. I would also add the information to the tutorial as well.

I also noticed that there was some loss in quality of the penguin head logo and the G in the bootsplash. The penguin head logo was shaded and lost a lot of its quality in the conversion process. I didn't understand why the G would be affected when the white text clearly stands out without any distortion. I'm going to have to experiment with proper design construction of images to be used as bootsplash screens.

What do you think about the text I've chosen for this design? I chose it because a serif font usually gives text a more 'classy' look than a san-serif. Fonts such as Times New Roman, they're usually reserved for printed materials. Would a more rounder style, such as what the current font be better to present the program as a bootsplash?

With that, check it out and let me know what you think and Happy Holidays to you and yours. :)

Sincerely,
Roger Nurick

Happy holidays to you too :D . I'll check this bootsplash theme later in the day.

Regarding the DrakSplash issue, I know it could get a bit irritating at times. To try to move the position of text to bottom, you could try editing the cfg file yourself if the slider doesn't work. Or simply I could do it for you. :)

I tried out this new grey theme, Roger. In my opinion, this is better than the first one. The green progress bar looks good with the grey background and the text position is ok.  I must say, you are learning quite fast.  :)

Thanks for your feedback. It only helps me to improve. By the way, if you would like to add the loading information to the bottom of the bootsplash as you mentioned, please do so and let me know if you upload it or add it to the board, since I'd like to check it out. I really couldn't figure out how to do it. It would be interesting to see what a version of that design looks like actually working.  :D

As for DrakSplash works for the most part, but it does have that one quirk where you really don't have total control where you can place objects unless you know some other methods to make it do that. That might be something that someone could someday improve on in an updated version of DrakSplash.

Again, thanks.

Sincerely,

Roger Nurick

 Hello GF
First, let's get through a few related subjects.
are you familiar with any graphics software? InkScape / Xara / Illustrator / photoshop, etc.? or do you plan on getting graphics some other way?
secondly, one of the easiest bootsplash engines to modify, is the "Moodin" engine, we can get to that later.
3rd... what is your level of pc user knowledge? are you comfortable getting into files, and making changes within them etc?

Just these things for now, so we can better understand what level we're going to begin with. :)
