So, if you have used Granular or just seen screenshots of it, vote for a suitable option about what you feel about this Linux distribution.  :)

Just saw it mentioned on distrowatch.com and downloaded the latest version available.

It looks terrific.  Works well on the 3 machines I have used it on.  Obviously in 3 days
I haven't gotten the full measure of it.  But it looks better than the PCLOS it is said to
be based upon.  Plus it can be run with XFCE.  I think it may be the best distro out right now.

Sure hope other folks will give it a try.

Kudos!

Thanks folks. If you like Granular v0.25, then you'll definitely love Granular v0.90 (Esto Vello).

I'll be downloading Granular today and take it through a bit of testing. But from what I've seen so far, you're doing a good job here.

I guess I'll have to say again (as I said on PCLinuxOS forums), the very best of luck to you. :D

Hi, I am a habitual Distro (especially Live CD) hunter... and here and there I come across something really good and new!
Granular is right up there... one of the best.  For me, it beats Ubuntu any time.
I find it amazing when a new Distro gets it nearly all right: easy Internet connection, good and high quality multimedia, NTFS-access and last but not least speed and reliability.
I am currently downloading 0.90 and looking very much forward to trying it out
Keep up the good work!

Downloading now, will get back to you, although I doubt it will get it installed, nothing beats arch for package management and always having an up to date system without breaking anything. The best of luck to you though.

I'm using the live CD now. I'm impressed. Basing your distro off of PCLinuxOS gives you a lot to live up to, and you're hitting high marks so far in most areas. I'll look around some more, but I can already say that Granular is looking better than some distros that have been around for a while. (just my opinion, of course)

There was one problem. I ran media check on booting the CD and the message that there was no checksum included came up. Was this just a 'bad burn' on my part? Or was it that it wasn't included in the ISO file? -- Maybe the option 'md5sum' wasn't included in your mklivecd script? -- Or was it something else?

Any road, you're doing a good job with this. Thank you for exceeding expectations.

It's good you reported the problem of md5sum, Merlin. We'll see to it what the problem actually is.

Installation went fine. The installer was quite familiar to me. ;D I've begun a few customizations. It is looking good, so far.

Very nice distro! I've experimented with many linux distros over the past few months, trying to find one that suits my particular needs. I've tried just about every major distro listed at Distrowatch but have found Granular to be the best for me so far. I particularly like the Kooldock option, so now I can keep my desktop clean. ;D With just a few minor tweaks I have Granular working just the way I want. Good work guys!

Granular is excellent.  I have tried many distros over the past few weeks and Granular is my favorite overall.  I will be sticking with it for now.

I wonder why Desktop Acceleration is not available for my PC.  It was available on other distros.  Not a huge deal, but enjoyed some of the functions of a 3D desktop. I am running NVIDIA Graphics built on to my motherboard.  Don't recall which card offhand.  I am at work now.

Thanks guys for your appreciation. John, to get 3D acceleration to work, download and install the latest NVIDIA drivers from the PCLinuxOS repository. You can do this by using the Synaptic Package Manager in Granular. Or you can download and install the drivers directly from www.nvidia.com. Installing them is easy.
