Nice Sommu. I really like the smooth effect of the bar. Text could use some more freedom <(I use this word a lot  :D)

Thanks Anurag. I hope it does not insult / bother anyone that I alter the logo, I'm just a weirdy by nature :P Once I have my hands on some gif images and/or svg or even ai files are fine I'll get it back to normal ;D

geminiguy,

Just a question, you do realize you are a talented artist right?? You have the gift.

Thanks for the compliment Chris... My "gift" actually comes handed down to me through my PAPA (my Mother's Father) and many members of my family are practicing/working artists. My talent, is actually more in natural mediums, such as paints, graphites, etc. I am actually fairly new to the whole Computer Graphics arena... I began with AI CS2 back last June (got a copy off a college student for $50.00) ;D But it was extremely frustrating to learn on my own, even with the tutorial disc.. so I gave it to my sister (who designs patterns for textile companies) Here work is seen in just about every store you go into all over the world, on various products... she is extremely well known and respected in her area of art, textiles & fashion design
From there, I found Linux around July, and Xara LX, the Gimp.... and I just play with it :) My toughest area, is the "techie" end. I become easily frustrated as I am not overly computer savy... But Im slowly working on it ;)
And, BTW... I see quite a few talented artists here... ;D Which is definitely to the greater benefit to the Granular Community 8) I think that given some time, getting to know one another... and working "together" as one mind, taking the best features from each.... Granular should, and will have quite an amazing look to it

So ur saying u use gimp now? hrr i just gets chills from it...

Since were telling lifestorys..  ::)
Myself i have used photoshop for about 2 or 3 years regulary.. and i bought wacom drawing tablet A4 size sometime ago and i started to more or less study digital painting on my own of course.. since i hate traditional painting i have no background in it but its a little different anyways.. alltho now im getting some little paintings done but the main problem to me is that i need very good sketch or more like linework to start my painting and i have hard time getting good ideas that i can draw :) here is one tho this link

Oh.. allmost forgot to say.. my logo is much better..   :o

I love the painting Sommu :) Very nice.

hehe, I use Gimp rarely, as well as inkscape (even more rarely) Xara LX is my most used software. I also often do freehand work, scan it in, and then use a really awesome software called "Pixia" to color in / clean-up. Then from there, sometimes I'll throw it into Xara to add some funky stuff ;D
And, just for the record... I'm not here to compete against any fellow artists... I'd much rather work "with" them. I think that method produces the ultimate results, and even nicer as we can all actually learn from each other, i.e.. different styles / techniques ;)
I am very passionate about art and really enjoy seeing other people's work and especially working with other artists.
For inspiration for items to draw, I often keep a sketch book on me (in my car etc.) and find places with interesting scenery, etc. ;)
