Been running the latest KDE.  I think it's finally coming of age.  Everything I've tried so far seem to work as it is intended.  It's smooth, fast, and and easy to work with.  It's a big step up from the 4.3.4 I have on another hard drive.   I'm thinking we're getting very close to the stability of 3.5.10 - or, maybe we're there already.

True. And I think we already are there, even beyond in some areas. :)

KDE 4.5 should be out in the coming weeks. :)

It seems 3.5.10 was released just last week. Boy, how time passes... ::)

Here's the release schedule for 4.4.5:

I'd guess PCL will probably have it in their repo's within a couple of days after release.

KDE 4.5 is out now. I was using Fedora Rawhide earlier and a few of the KDE packages said 4.5.1 already. KDE 4.5 is very nice (tested it on Fedora Rawhide and Mandriva Cooker.) The "under-the-hood" integration makes it very pleasant and functional to use.

UPDATE: KDE 4.5.1 is out now.

What is "under-the-hood" integration?

I'm referring to features like KSharedDataCache, Nepomuk, etc. The various back-ends KDE uses to help share data and features across its various programs.

Knew about Nepomuk. And this KSharedDataCache sounds interesting.
