OK,
as I am currently unable to post to the Granuminati forum, I am posting it here and later will move there.
Here is something which could be early alpha preview of my wallpaper. The basic arrangement will not change much. I only have to find the best way to draw the claw mark on the rusty metal as this one does not look good. I am going to try something with my tablet in GIMP and then we will see.
The wallpaper was inspired by the first X-men movie, but no images from the movie were used or “copied”. As you know, Wolverine's origin is a little bit dark and is connected to secret military research program located to the Alkali Lake base. This base was later abandoned – Wolverine was there again in X2 movie.
So I tried to catch this atmosphere and so used the rusty warning sign and also one important thing - Wolverine's dog tags – here used to show that this is Granular 2.0 release and the codename too, of course.
The textures are from CGI textures website, all other was made by me in GIMP and few things also in Inkscape.
I am preparing to release the final work in all common screen ratios:
4:3 - 1920x1440
16:9 - 1920x1080
16:10 - 1920x1200
(and maybe derived smaller ones)
