I have just installed Granular 1.0 Esto Vox.

At first, I chose the first selection, it is (Granular). I watch on verbose and find all look OK. But the system ending with this below:

   GRANULAR

Granular release 1.0 for i586
Kernel 2.6.26.8. granular1 on a Dual - processor i686/tty.
localhost login:

After I login with user: root, password: root. I confuse what should i do next.
I try to type "startx". But it comes long list that i don't really understand. I shut the machine down.

I start again and chose the second selection, it is (VideoSafeModeFBDev).
By using this second selection, the system is able to run well as a live cd. The I install to the Hardisk, It is successful. I explore the system, it's pretty well. I like it much.

I am still not feeling good.
Why It does not work from first selection (Granular).
When this system works/installed from the second selection (VideoSafeModeFBDev). Does it mean the system will not Powerful enough?

Does anyone can give some explanation.

Thanks a lot.

Now that the OS is installed, when you boot, do you still need to use video safe mode? Or can you just boot under the first option now?

If you still need to boot via video safe mode after the OS is installed, you may need to make some changes to your settings related to the video drivers/card. But don't worry, if this is the case, we can get someone to help you with the needed steps  ;)

indonesia,

Its not about the power of the system, but the driver the linux kernel needs
to use to use the hardware, in your case its the video card.

I can tell you more once i know what underlying hardware you have, the make and model.

Gemini,
After It's Installed. Yes, I can just boot under the first option now.

If that is so, you should be good now.
The ram required to running both the LiveCD & your video card was more than your machine could handle at the moment. What happens in this case is, the LiveCD offers you an option to only use the min required ram for your video card, to allocate the necessary ram needed by the LiveCD to run.

There is no difference in the performance of the OS once it is installed. LiveCDs require a bit of ram, and some of them can call for quite a draw to run. ;)

Gimini is totally correct, the only reason you had to use the safe mode was because of video/memory  compatibility problems. Once it is set up after install there should be no problems.
