:'( All my own fault, which is no consolation of course, but I've lost the volume control on my taskbar and I'd rather like some help getting it back please.

It happened like this, for special purposes I wanted to install Suse 11.1 64 bit temporarily and needed to run it live rather than in a virtual machine. I allowed Suse to re-format my / but left /home as was and than reversed things when I'd finished with Suse which was running KDE 3.5 BTW..

All my other preferences and files remained intact but my task bar suffered a bit. I've had no prob's sorting everything else but my volume slider is spurlos versenkt!

BTW I've never been gladder of anything than to be back with Granular, Suse came as a culture shock I'd not like to repeat.

Just right click on the task bar, and go to

add application to panel then go to multimedia, and then to sound

then click on kmix and it'll be back in your task bar. If it's not where you'd like
it to be then just right click it, and click on move, and you'll be able to drag and drop it
where you want it to be.
