Not sure if anyone else keeps an eye on www.compiz-fusion.org or www.phoronix.com, but Compiz has made a few Linux news headlines lately. Apparently Compiz-Fusion is going to be discontinued, Compiz++ and NOMAD are being merged back into Compiz and it will be a single project. The 0.8 release of Compiz will be the next stable branch and should be out within a few days (unless it's out already by now.) Then a lot of work will be done to prepare for the unified project's 0.9 release.

Well... that just dropped years of work down the drain.... :-\
What a bummer.... so, what of those who love Compiz-Fusion and want to continue using it? This group has done this before.. the history is like a never-ending cycle of splits and re-mergers, etc.... I wish they would just get it all together and stay with it.
I wonder if this will bring back interest in E17 now?

Compiz++ had most if not all of Compiz-Fusion's plugins and functionalities ported to it. Now it's all going to be merged back into Compiz and that'll be the big focus. They have stated that Compiz-Fusion users should stay with C-F until they are done merging everything back together.

To me too, it seems like a bad news. These guys merge projects just when people have started liking their products.

Earlier this happened to Beryl, and now Compiz Fusion. :P
