Does Granular SE sound too much like a windows OS? Granular SE, Granular ME, Granular NT XD
No but seriously, i've had enough of windows on my homeserver, and I want to officially use Granular, unfortunatly it runs slower than ubuntu (its a crap server)

Granular SE means Granular Server Edition, and I imagine that after what you've been through, its not gonna be hard to accomplish! :P

  • Strip the current release of it's "fun" componants, (Games, applications which are pointless for a server, Word prosessing utilities, etc...
  • Install more server like applications, I have noticed that is already has a database utility, but install more server stuff (FTP server, a free open source webhosting panel, sql database manager, webserver (apache) or even (http://wamp.com) maybe a straight off way to get nameservers (which I have never worked out how to do)

This would be a nice idea, if you were to release something like this, i would use it on my server! :D

Fortunately, there already exists a distro just as you want. In fact, it's also based on PCLinuxOS. It's called PCLOSBE. Here's the link to their website:

Thanks anurag :D Ill check that out
Your've probably got enough on your plate right now, but you shouldn't let that stop you releasing a server edition of your own (if you wanted to)
