I am happy to announce the final release of Granular 1.0.

Excerpt from the release announcement:
Quote
After a long wait, Granular 1.0 is finally out. And we are pretty much excited about this release because this is the first stable Granular release since about a year, and because it's version 1, of course. This final release of Granular 1.0 brings with it solid stability, out-of-the-box usefulness, great multimedia experience, support for running Windows software, and all of this & much more in the size of a CD (livecd).

Major packages include Kernel 2.6.26.8, KDE 3.5.10, Enlightenment 0.16.999, Firefox 3.0.4, Thunderbird 2.0.0.14, KOffice 1.6.3, CompizFusion 0.7.6, Gimp 2.6.3, Wine 1.0.1 to name a few. This release builds upon plenty of bug fixes and feature improvements over the last development release (RC).

NOTE: Granular 1.0 is based on the last testing release - Granular 1.0 RC - and not on any beta release of PCLinuxOS 2009.

Welcome mychinko
I am not in the dev team so I cannot 100% give you the answer to your question...
Although I can tell you that we are no longer using the PCLOS repos, we have our own. Many bugs have been fixed since the previous release of granular and there are less compatibility issues with this one.
Its jam packed with goodies so I suggest checking it out :P

I am sure Anurag, chrisz or any other of the smart guys around here will be able to assist you further
Thanks :)

:D Thanks for the entire 'G' Team!!

Installation is perfect..ATI drivers thr'Video installation tool' working well.. But I could not able to configure my monitor resolution(View sonixc-VA2226w)  1680 X1050 could not be selected.. So I configure with 1600X1200 resolution..with fonts appear as small tiny DOTs..Audio and Video working well..nothing against 'kaffine' but downloaded 'VLC' old habits die hard..
But only complaint is boot time is still slow..
(Mine is AMD 4200+3GB DDR2 with 22'monitor )
One year ago I thought Fedora was the slowest Distro to boot so I wash out...Now Fedora -10 become fastest Booting distro even than Sidux..with Ubuntu become more bloated than every previous release, I believe Fedora and mandriva may win the race.. I don;t consider open Suse since it is on steroids supplied by the M$ ..Mint depended its popularity on ubuntu 's shoulder//

Among the Heavyweight Graunular may become a dark horse if it does not depend on one particular distro ( Granular was out of distrowatch Top hundred List.. because of the same reason)

Gemini as to take epinephrine shots every time he hears or sees anything that resembles, you know, that hole in the wall with a piece of glass covering it.
Keep breathing, it is all you really have
