I quote from the website:

Quote
Minimum recommended specs call for:

    *

      1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
    *

      1 GB of system memory
    *

      16 GB of available disk space
    *

      Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory (to enable the Aero theme)
    *

      DVD-R/W Drive
    *

      Internet access (to download the Beta and get updates)

Ok, I put the disc in my machine at 7pm. It finished installing at half past three (3:30am). The damn computer kept me awake and now Im really tired :(

My computer's spec:

1Gb RAM
1.5Ghz - 2.0Ghz Processor
I beleive I supplied it with a 80Gb hard drive.

It took 8 and a half hours.

My computer meets the reqirements.

Also another think to note is that with my spec, dont expect it to boot within 20 minutes.

as for the OS itself, I dont know... On boot, it crashes.

Routing through the Windows 7 source code I found:
Code: [Select]
OnComputerBoot()
{
 CrashComputer()
  return 1;
}
No only joking, but you can imagine my frustration! :P

I think the error is graphical. The first time windows loaded, it loaded Aero then the graphics went all fuzzy, and now when I restart, it goes black and crashes when aero loads. I think my graphics card is too old? ATI Radeon 9550 (not sure what MB, probably 128)

On the whole, a complete bloody diasaster :P

(I might try and install it on this pc with Virtual Box!)

Ooh, you have one of those not so legal copies of "Windows 7". Don't expect it to run well when its not even out yet ;D

You are much braver than I am.

Windoze 7 would have to come with a free lifetime supply of women before I would ever consider installing it.

I'm new here. I installed Granule and Windows 7 on this desktop computer yesterday. I booted each a few times, Grub is my manager and it worked fine.

I like the Windows 7 beta; it's lots better than XP or Vista if you ask me. Fast, polite, efficient.

Not better than Linux, though, but some things (such as good text-to-speech or speech-to text) don't work in Linux. (Note the emphasis on "good". Linux has such things, but relative to Windows programs you can buy, they totally suck.)

I had a very weird experience today. I came to this computer today and there was no obvious sign that I had ever installed Granule!! (Of course, the partition was still there, but there was no Grub interface.)

Windows 7 was running everything. In the CMOS, I had set the fan to run at a higher speed than it does by default. That CMOS setting was gone! It was back to the setting it had by default. (Which periodically crashed my machine due to overheating.)

It turned out that Windows 7 had run an automatic update overnight. I think that's what bonked my setup.

It was easy to reinstall Granule, and thanks to the fact that I had my /home/user directory in another partition, all my settings were saved. But it was certainly a surprise.

Granule looks great. I wanted to install my favorite distro, Sidux, but for weird reasons I haven't figured out yet, it won't install on this computer now. I've run lots of distros, but this is my first experience with PCLOS-related distros. It looks too easy. I like a challenge <g>.

A complaint about too easy, now thats a first. Perhaps Chris can send you a copy with more bugs in it for you.
